Whew! What an awesome, busy, educational and happy weekend we had.
On Saturday we attended the TED X SMU conference in Dallas. I'll post a full review once the videos are up, but it's safe to say that we'll be going back next year. And the next year. And the next year. And I would recommend it to anyone.
While lunch was provided at TED X SMU it was a boxed wrap. and I'm kind of picky. And vegetarian. So we trotted across the street to
Klyde Warren Park to hit up the food trucks along with most of Dallas. Can you believe the success of Klyde Warren Park? It's quickly become the jewel of Dallas. We shared the tofu rice bowl from
Nammi and it was heaven- firm, flavorful and slightly crispy. Just how I like tofu.
Saturday also provided me a great chance to break in my new
Keds. Yep, you heard that right. They're precious and comfy, which leads to the question 'why I haven't I owned a pair of these as an adult??!!!'. I don't know, but I'll tell you I had to resist the urge to wear them again today. New favorite.
On Saturday night I attended
Texas Ballet Theater's production of
Romeo and Juliet. I've never won anything in my life and I actually won 2 Orchestra level tickets for answering a question correctly on Facebook about the ballet. I can't say that
Romeo and Juliet is my favorite ballet, but it was danced beautifully and really made me look forward to
Swan Lake (which is my favorite).
On Sunday we spent our customary Sunday morning in bed with the newspaper and a taquito. I know it's sort of a Southern thing to go to church on Sundays and have brunch with your family, but this is our little tradition and it's one that I adore.
After we were done lounging I headed to
Avoca coffee to get a little bit of work done. I'm a firm believer in making questionable food choices on the weekends so I had both a Mexican Coke and
Chocolate Nutella Cake from Stir Crazy. It was worth it :0)
Hope you had a great weekend!!!
