Weekend plans: May 3-5th

  Happy Thursday! Here are some fun ideas to get your weekend going: 

All Weekend 


When: Friday 6-9, Saturday 10-6 and Sunday 11-5
Where: 5100 Belt Line Road,  Suite 400, Dallas Texas
Cost: Free!
The scoop: The Craft Guild is a local 501(c)3 dedicated to promoting crafts and art. Membership is open to the public and they regularly how classes and workshops. The Spring Show is an opportunity to view the artists work and maybe pick up a unique item!

Friday


When: Friday at 8:00 and Saturday at 2:00 or 8:00
Where: The ATT PAC, 2403 Flora Street, Dallas
Cost: $12-$200
The scoop: Goodness am I jealous if you get to go to this performance. The Alvin Ailey dancers are some of the finest modern dancers in the united states, and I'm proud that my community is showing such excellent dance work. Bravo Titas! 

Fridays Relaxation Meditation


When: 12-12:30 (lunch hour)
Where: Fort Worth Community Arts Center, 1300 Gendy Street Fort Worth
Cost: $5
The scoop: Unwind with a half hour session of guided meditation to start your weekend off right. 

Saturday


When: All day Saturday, the museum opens at 10 AM 
Where: The Nasher Sculpture Center, 2001 Flora Street, Dallas Texas 75201
Cost: Free!
The scoop: Free admission for all ages, fun activities all day including a scavenger hunt and yoga! Bonus points if you walk across the street to play at Kyle Warren Park. 


When: Saturday at 9:00 AM 
Where: Camp El Tesoro, 7710 Fall Creek Highway, Grandbury Texas
Cost: Free!
The scoop: Ok, so this isn't technically an event, but more a plug :0) Jason and I have several friends affiliated with Campfire or Camp El Tesoro and we love these organizations. The camp preview will give you a sample of activities including archery and hiking, the facilities and you can learn more about overnight camp for kids age 6-17. 

Sunday

When: Sunday at 6
Where: Ed Landreth Auditorium, 2800 South University Drive, Fort Worth 
Cost: $5-10
The Scoop:  Since 1965 the Fort Worth Youth Orchestra has exposed young people to the opportunities within classical music. And these kids are good. Like they travel around the world and proudly hold their own at the Bass Hall. If you appreciate classical music, go support a young artist.


When: Sunday at 2
Where: Bass Hall, Downtown Fort Worth
Cost: $45-$180
The scoop: The Opera is in the middle of their annual Opera Festival and this Opera has been getting wonderful reviews. Plus it's in English! Last week they did a $20 after brunch special so we're hoping the same offer will be available this weekend :0)
