Weekend Plans: April 12-14th

It's Thursday, which means it's time for the big weekend plan roundup. Here are my favorite picks:

When: Friday, 6-9
Where: 1013 West Magnolia Ave
Cost: Free!
The scoop: SiNaCa keeps it's studio open after hours for demonstrations by guest artist, glass art shows and byob fellowship. It's also a great opportunity to learn more about their facilities and art form.

When: Friday, 6:30-9
Where: Oil and Cotton, 837 W. 7th Street, Dallas Texas
Cost: $65 inclusive of the cost of materials
The scoop: Fantastic intro to calligraphy, including a fab 'starter kit' including pen, nib, paper and paper pad.

When: Saturday, starting at 8 AM or 8:30 AM
Cost: $10-$25
The scoop: All proceeds benefit anti-violence programs at the Women's Center of Tarrant County. They serve 95,000 men, women and children annually and do really amazing work.

When: Saturday, times vary by attraction
Where: Downtown McKinney Texas, I don't think you can miss it
Cost: Free!
The scoop: More than 150 local and regional artists, an ArtWalk, farmers market, young artist piano competition and more! Plus McKinney is just charming.

When: Sunday at 2:30
Where: The Eisemann Center, 2351 Performance Drive, Richardson Texas
Cost: Free!
The scoop: Who doesn't love a free concert on a Sunday afternoon! The Plano Community Band is a volunteer group made up of area musicians. The Spring Pops Concert represents one of their 2 formal concerns per year and is open to the community for free.

Here's hoping the weather holds out for your adventures!
