Last night we had the privilege of attending our 5th Titas Command Performance. I look forward to Titas every year, but this year was doubly special because the Mr wore a bow tie :0)
The mission of TITAS is to bring the world's best music, dance and performing arts to North Texas. And boy do they succeed! This year TITAS celebrated it's 30th year and it's 19th Command Performance by inviting 11 world renowned dancers to perform in 10 selected dance pieces.
Our favorite piece of the evening was Remix 03, with choreography by Viktor Kabaniaev, music by the groundbreaking Philip Glass and performances by Janessa Touchet and Cervilio Miguel Amador.
This video does not even begin to do the piece justice, but it's worth watching. Touchet and Amador move like water and are the perfect pairing.
After the performances, TITAS hosts La Fete du Ballet, with special guests The Booker T. Washington Jazz Ensemble.
These kids are incredible musicians and great performers. The cherry on top of our evening is always the Titas Photo Booth!!! So we'll leave you with this photo of me, the hubs, Juanito (my former college roommate extraordinaire) and his new roommate Drew.
